The Centerville Police Department reported the following matter, according to a report held by the department:

— On October 20, Judith H. Zoglio reported the theft of her smartphone. According to Officer Neal Shaffer’s report, she had left it at Dollar General, near the post office; when it was pinged, it responded from 8B Laundry. A search there turned up nothing. Another ping showed it was at the Fast Stop No. 6 store, where was found in a trashcan. A search for the thief continued.

— On October 27, Bailey A. Tidwell, 24, of Lyles, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and violation of the implied consent and open container laws. According to Officer Cole Parks’ report, he went to the Dollar General on Highway 100 in Centerville, where a blue truck was swerving all over the road. The suspect was slurring his words when speaking to officers. Six empty cans of alcohol were found inside the vehicle along with another six-pack. A sobriety test was conducted.
