The Centerville Police Department reported the following matters in recent days, according to reports held by the department:

— On November 2, Grady E. King, 49, of Centerville, was arrested and charged with shoplifting, possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Officer Ben Green’s report, he went to the Dollar General store, at 104 Dickson Street, where store employees said a male had hidden merchandise on his person and left on foot. Green identified the suspect in a surveillance video, and he was located walking along Brown Junction Road. The suspect said he had methamphetamine in his pocket.

— On November 5, the frame of a Universal Hauling vehicle detached from the body while traveling near the intersection of highways 100 and 50 East, and the trailer left the road and traveled down an embankment, Officer Joshua Nelson reported. The vehicle was headed west on Highway 50 East, driven by David Shrum, and had turned right onto Highway 100 when the mishap occurred. No one was injured.

— On November 6, a female student, 16, at Hickman County High was charged in a Juvenile Court petition with possessing a prohibited item — a vape — as a minor. According to SRO Patrick Brady’s report, the student dropped a vape on her way into a class; she told the officer she had gotten it from another student and was holding it for her.

— On November 8, Jason R. Brannon, 46, of Centerville, was arrested and charged with possession of 4.0 grams of methamphetamine and unlawful drug paraphernalia. According to Officer Cole Parks’s report, he made a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to maintain its lane on Highway 100. A search followed.

— On November 11, an unconscious woman was reported at Dollar General, 1313 Highway 100. According to Officer Joshua Nelson’s report, the woman’s mother, who was present, reported that the woman was “known to use heroin,” and the woman was taken to the hospital.
