The Centerville Police Department reported the following matters in recent days, according to its reports:
— On August 8, HCHS School Resource Officer Patrick Brady noticed a male student standing outside a bathroom when a female student emerged and handed the male student a small bag. Brady informed the principal of the situation and the male student was called to the office, where he said the bag contained a vape pen. The female student was brought in as well and said she had been using the vape in the bathroom. Such cases often produce petitions to Juvenile Court.
— On August 9, Officer Patrick Brady was informed that three HCHS students had been drinking alcohol in a classroom. Brady, along with the principal, pulled the three students out of class. It was found that one of the students had brought the alcohol to school and the others had consumed it.
